Mee Hailam recipe is easy and fast

In Malaysia, Mee is a very popular food and there are a variety of options with a variety of flavors and ways of preparation. One of the popular noodles is hailam noodles, a gravy noodle dish based on soy sauce and oyster sauce. The ingredients for this noodle can be prepared according to individual tastes. The most common side dishes we see include meat, chicken, shrimp , squid and fish ball. Commonly matched vegetables include mustard, carrot slices, young corn and tomatoes.

In this recipe , I use shrimp skin stew water as a flavor enhancer to hailam noodle gravy. It's easy, prawn shells boiled for 15 minutes with 1 a cup of water for every 150g of shrimp. Invite is also stir-fried with meat but then removed before cooking 100% so that it is not hard and dry. Shrimp will be added later at the end of the cooking process so that the shrimp remain sweet when served.

Ingredients for Along Hailam

1kg of yellow noodles (6-8 servings)
150g prawns with shells removed
200g fish ball atau fish cake
100g of thinly sliced ​​meat
1 sliced ​​tomato seeds 6
100g mustard
11 chopped garlic cloves
3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce
3 tablespoon of oyster sauce.
1 tablespoons of Aji-Shio white pepper

Method of preparation

  1. For a tastier gravy, boil the prawn shells in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes and set aside.
  2. Heat a little oil for frying. Add the chopped garlic.
  3. When the garlic starts to look crispy , Put in the meat.
  4. Followed by shrimp. Shrimp will be cooked until 3/4 cook only and not completely. Remove the shrimp first and set aside while we cook the other ingredients.
  5. Add the sweet soy sauce. only take. 1 a cup of boiled water and shrimp skin 3 cup or 750ml of water. Stir and increase the heat.
  6. When the gravy is boiling, insert the fishball, fishcake and mustard greens.
  7. Add the tomato pieces and 1 tablespoons of white pepper Aji Shio.
  8. Before adding the noodles, cook a little hot water, Pour over the noodles and toss.
  9. Add the yellow noodles. And mix well. If you like mee hailam with more gravy, add more water, soy sauce, oyster sauce and white pepper to your taste.
  10. Finally, add the shrimp we fried earlier. And cook for 2-3 minutes more. Flip the noodles like this, from the bottom of the pan upwards.
  11. Hailam noodles are best served immediately after cooking and matched with pickled chillies.
